Blue / Green Screen

You knew something good would come of it.

yea, when you farm this stuff out to the lowest bidder (or worse, your free interns) it will occasionally bite you in the ass. The democrats have to put up with the republians reusing hundreds of US flags that were thrown in the garbage in Denver after the DNC, and the republicans have to put up with a sorts of green screen craziness.

I certainly don't blame Obama for all the US flags just tossed away as so much refuse, but it is unclear if the blame should go to the workers hired by the venue or the delegates and attendees themselves for just shitcanning the flags.

Everybody knows you're supposed to burn them. (By which I mean nobody knows that you're really supposed to burn them.)

Here's a link about the flag story:

They love America so much they steal other peoples' flags!

Looking at the pictures,I don't think those so-called "American flags" had a fly-to-hoist ratio of 1.9, anyway.

Nor do the paper representations of the flag on toothpicks I use to decorate my Independence Day cupcakes (so I can throw them away after I eat the cupcakes without violating the Flag Code).

This sort of distinction is useful because sometimes I want to wave an American flag without actually using an American flag. At a parade, for example, where I might worry about being caught with my flag in inclement weather. Also, if I bake my aforementioned cupcakes on the 3rd of July, I don't want to have to shine a light on my cupcakes all night because it might harm the photo-degradeables in my fridge.

It is entirely likely that these flags were going to be reused

I find it a bit unlikely that these flags were going to be reused

from the Denver Post

"UPDATE I: I just spoke with the person at Invesco who found the flags and he thinks both sides are exaggerating a bit. The person claims the majority of the bags with flags in them were near the trash, on a dock, and would have been thrown away. The person thinks it was probably an “oversight” by the Democrats rather than any nefarious plot against the flag. But the person doesn’t believe anyone was coming to get them: “The flags were there for a week and a day and no one came looking for them.”

One thing I know for certain: Barack Obama didn’t order anyone to throw out 12,000 American flags. "

And really, Huffpost? Come on! Look, every media outlet has a bit of a bias, but I try not to turn to NObama.com etc. Couldn't you find something a bit closer to neutral?

Bonus pot-kettle-black points to you, Andy, for linking to patriotroom.com in your response and then calling me out for not using a more "neutral source." I will certainly concede that Huffington Post has an agenda, and I don't find it worthwhile for a regular read.

I tried to search around for a decent source, but couldn't find any. This is a bullshit, he-said, she-said political gotcha story from the beginning, and doesn't seem to have much traction with mainstream sites. I would hope it doesn't break out of right-wing radio land, but you never can tell.

Andy, you have a tote board at home that has a mark on it for every time you've kept me from talking about something awesome by talking about something tedious, haven't you? I get it now.

You just couldn't let the Obama Rick-roll be awesome, could you? It was pretty awesome. Admit it. Admitting that that video was awesome isn't any sort of political statement. It isn't any sort of concession. It's just letting something that's awesome be awesome.

Doh, you weren't supposed to notice that.

I was just google image searching anyways. You are free to not believe anythign they write, but I don't think the picture was doctored. I guess that means pictures from huffpost would probably be all right too as long as in good faith you believed them not to have been doctored.

Commentary from both sites...probably not so much.

Anyways I did find some info on it at the denver post, which is where I got the "probably an “oversight” by the Democrats rather than any nefarious plot against the flag"

And of course fox news. I admit they are a bit right leaning, but I don't think they are nearly as much right leaning as huffington is left leaning. I was attempting to avoid them as a source, and that's when I stepped on the patriotroom trap.

Anyways, to AVK

It is fine you use paper replica on your cupcakes, but it seems to me arguing that throwing the item in question away because it isn't a real 'offical' flag could be it's own fodder.

I can see the headline now.

"FAKE FLAG WAVING DEMCRATS!"

"Dems say 'real flag too expensive'"

"Obama supporters don't bother with real flags!"

I mean, if the DNC isn't an approprate time to break out 'real' flags, then when is?

Anyway I am going to go hop in the shower then go out and vote.

Maybe when I come back I'll make up a toteboard. Do you have a color prefrence for me to represent you with?
