Baumbach directed The Squid and the Whale (excellent) and co-wrote The Life Aquatic. A question to the Tenacious D fans: does this fall under the King Kong family of "do not want" Jack Black?

Congratulations! You're the 1000th person to link to the "DO NOT WANT" pictures on my website in reference to something that happened that you didn't particularly like!
Congrats on your exceptional high page ranking.
I think that JB is rapidly approaching a sort of crux in his career not unlike the one Bill Murray eventually came up against. Both actors had a bunch of starring roles playing pretty much the same character with a different hat.
I thought King Kong was fine. It was certainly a hell of a lot better than /The Razor's Edge/.
The real challenge JB's up against is crossing over without having to take a decade off and returning as a sort of elder statesman. I think it's in him, not from anything I've seen in his starring roles (as much as I adore /School of Rock/), but from his early bit parts (/Bob Roberts/) and supporting roles (/The Cable Guy/).
The wife and I are the only two fans of Shallow Hal.
I can't say if this is "do not want" Mr. Black or not. Because I am not interested in sitting through another man's women frustrations, fake or not.
In the past Jack has said his life is about getting girls to like him. Girls like rock stars. Girls like comedians. So he became a funny fock star.
Girls also like chick flix. So now he is looking to become a chick flix actor.
More power to him but I am not watching this one.
