Microsoft Research actually does some cool stuff. Here's a couple demos which certainly impressed me, I just hope I get to play with these products someday. The Photosynth demo is especially mind-blowing in its implications, and I like to think about future boardgames using Surface.Surface

The gaming community was anticipating this announcement in the expectation that it might have gaming applications right off the bat, but there hasn't been any word. I'm just imagining how much longer its going to take to get a Big Mac when the guy has to draw the cheeseburger.
